Conduct a user survey to assess feedback on UX, pricing tiers, and functionality.
The leadership team sought to understand why only 3% of 6 K free users had converted to paid. Additionally, product metrics showed drop‑off after the first outbound cadence, but why users quit remained a mystery. VC partners insisted on answers fast, but spend per insight had to stay razor‑thin.
Competitor Audit: researched and organized notes on seven primary competitors to understand industry standards for pricing structure, UX design, market strategy, and reputation (reviews and blog posts). Then used this analysis to identify six suspected pain points including pricing clarity, feature gating and site navigation.
Survey Design: I designed a custom micro-survey blending conjoint‑style items and open‑text probes. Then, I recruited users via in‑app intercept and two nudges (survey tool: PostHog), resulting in a 2.4% submission rate across 7 days.
Deliverable: report that included several quick site and pricing structure improvements. Two were implemented immediately behind feature flags and A/B‑tested over 7 days.
