I’m a PhD-trained research and insights professional helping founders drive their bottom line through integrated marketing science, consumer insights, UXR, and analytics.
Through a non-traditional career path, I have over a decade of hands-on experience in data science, marketing, and primary research - making me uniquely qualified to answer the toughest questions that your business is facing with statistically sound evidence.
After getting an undergraduate degree in math, I started working in media analytics - digging into databases of client's website usage statistics and ad clicks. After a couple of years of learning SQL and running reports, I started to transition into a more strategic role, working across market research and consumer insights for the next four years.
My next step took me to London, where I received an MSc from University College London in decision science. There, I conducted my first primary research study - seven years and a doctoral degree later, I'm applying the principles I learned for ethical, validated study design to user research.
When people think of academia, it's usually as a bunch of philosophical theorists memorizing outdated textbooks. But that couldn't be farther from the truth for a doctoral degree in the sciences. Not only is research inherently hands on and bleeding edge - but usually everything is left up to the candidate to do themselves. That means figuring out how to secure financial resources, get the project prototyped, built and tested, recruit research assistants and pitch the results to publishers - entirely on our own. I was my own IT, PM, UX/UI, HR, and Sales.
That's why setting out by myself to help founders uncover insights and answer burning questions has been a no-brainer.
